"REACHcycles are a God sent organization. This foundation brings a sense of normalcy for children with disabilities. The bikes allow the children to experience what other typical children experience (riding a bike )everyday. It's the small things that people take for granted, who would have thought that they would ever have a chance to ride a bike? Thanks REACHcycles we love you!"

REACHcycles is an all-volunteer 501 (c)(3) organization that addresses a local need for children and veterans with disabilities who are unable to ride traditional bikes, and are unable to afford therapeutic cycles. Our mission is to provide mobility and independence for children and veterans with disabilities through specially adapted AmTryke therapeutic cycles.
Since July 2014, we have provided over 170 AmTryke cycles donated to children in the Richmond community who have a variety of disabilities, diseases and disorders. REACHcycles works closely with Childrens Hospital of Richmond and many organizations to identify individuals in the community who would benefit from a customized AmTryke cycle. These cycles cost an average of $800 (ranging from $400 - $1200) per cycle. Costs vary with the age and size of the individual, and necessary modifications of the adapted tryke are based upon individual needs. Our numerous volunteers come from the backbone of this community with all backgrounds including veterans, active duty soldiers, fireman, policeman, youth groups, therapists, teachers, VCU students and many others, to assist in assembling bikes, providing activities, transporting bikes, and fitting/evaluations for children.
